Working with Amazon Part 2

The writing process is truly a beautiful and annoying thing.

Throughout the day; no matter where, when or why I have stories literally pouring into my head. Begging to be written and I have to wait.

I have to wait when I'm done with work and the kids are silent and I have alone time (not possible when you're a mom) and pray those ideas come flooding in.

As all writers know, they don't come back.

I have written and rewritten so many works that I loved and then hated because of how my mind works.

Reason number one why Amazon helped me by guiding me down the right path.

Self publishing my first book allowed me to be in control while breaking down the publishing process.

I learned about advertising, royalties, self expression in the truest of ways and see my work flourish.

I was afraid of the traditional way, I've heard many stories.

Many people have had to change, adjust or completely scrap their work/idea to people who's main goal is to sell your work. It's almost always successful, but at what cost?

Sure, self publishing is really hard and if you're not disciplined; damn near impossible.

But the rewards...????

People see the true you. You can be authentic and feel free of pleasing everyone (p.s. you can't)

I will be publishing with Amazon and maybe down the road if presented with a reasonable contract, I will consider the traditional route.

Everyone is different. What works for me may not work for you.

Just remember to follow your dreams and trust the process.
