Wattpad

Firstly, is anyone on Wattpad or know of Wattpad, if so hi! Follow me on there for my other unpublished work and show me some love. If not, this blog is dedicated to showing some love to this beautiful site.

I joined Wattpad in 2013 solely as a reader. I followed a few writers and was so intrigued with their courage to share their work and reply to feedback. I wanted to so badly join and write but it wouldn't be until 2015 that I decided to make the first step. Meeting Egypt: The Echidna Trilogy was still scrapped, but I was working on a teen fiction novel, Wrong'd and started to grow a platform.

Once I got a few hundred followers, I decided to rewrite Echidna (Meeting Egypt) and start publishing it. Despite Wrong'd being the longer and more popular book at the time, Echidna quickly grew and I started receiving new followers that were into historical fiction and Egyptian mythology. It was exciting and I learned so much from the kind feedback.

Of course the site wasn't perfect, nothing is but it allowed me to grow in confidence. Shortly after finishing Echidna, I put it on hold and began editing once I collected as much information to make this story better. I also made so many amazing friends, one who offered to make my original covers for Echidna (which I adore).

Later Wattpad upgraded and showed me the world's interest in my book. I was able to stats and how my book ranked amongst age groups, sex and countries. It was more than exciting, it was exhilarating.

To wrap this up, thank you Wattpad. I will forever cherish the beginning you offered me. We have a beautiful story. 💛
