The Curse

Yes, there are more characters, I need to dive into, but before we go any further I'd like to discuss the actual curse.

You know, the actual reason behind my book. The reason behind the many deaths surrounding Camille and her family, that leaves her as the "last" member before it is completed. The curse is more of a prophecy that needs to be completed in order for things to fall into place, because a love story is only the added bonus.

Ancient Egyptian was beautiful to reminisce with beautiful articles and stories that resembled my own, I had to really prepare myself to correctly write this story. I am still learning as I say each time, but I believe with my whole heart I did this story some justice. Royal families in those times, tried to procreate with the 'purest' of bloods, now some included incest while others joined with surrounding cities to marry off beautiful members of prestigious familes.

This is where my other character makes her mark, Kamilah. Yes, it resembles Camille, which will make sense later thanks to Camille's mom. Kamilah is the ancestor of Camille, and the origin of this prophecy. She and her sister are beautiful, fruitful and taught to be docile to their husband; Pharaoh Adom (another character), but their lives changed drastically thanks to a beautiful gift (spoiler alert).

Milan, Kamilah's mother, was a barren woman who kept faith and prayed to the fertile goddess, Hathor. She is blessed despite the risks and gives birth to six beautiful women, all of which I will discuss later because they matter to the curse as well. Kamilah is the youngest and as she prepares to learn her duty as the soon to be wife of the Pharaoh, her village is raided and her mother killed during the attack; leaving the poor orphans behind.

Afraid to brace the world alone and scared to lose her sisters, she is threatened by a mysterious entity, The Echinda. She comes to Kamilah during the raid and kidnaps her briefly, threatening to harm the rest of her family if she didn't comply. In fear, Kamilah, a prestigious daughter, gives her soul to the demon and faith is soon lost.

Why would Echidna go so far as to destroy her home and capture Kamilah? Let's just say, Milan wasn't supposed to be 'blessed' and as soon as word got out that a fallen angel (spoiler alert) gives her blood to Milan to make her fertile, everyone is after free angel blood. The difference is, because it is holy blood, one must be willing to share it.

The Echidna has plans to capture all girls involved, and plan a world domination until Kamilah meets someone she can't shake. A man, who adores her despite her royal title and isn't afraid of the repercussions, so she does something that sets off the prophecy and begins the curse. She is no longer pure and now Echidna needs a new vessel; someone that can complete what Umi promised so long ago so that she can have another willing soul to taint and control.

Thankfully, she has a dying and faithless one. How can Camille get out of this alive?
