NEITH

This character is more of a flat one, but her presence is more noted in the second and third book, but I'd like to give her more credit. Here is Neith, the sister who betrayed Kamilah.

Before you judge, she too was a young woman thrown into a harsh world as Kamilah and tried her hardest to please their husband, Pharaoh Adom. She was known to be the most beautiful out of the sisters and most fertile; she married him at a young age even before the eldest was ready because she was charming as well.

She caught on early on how to play this unfair life to her advantage and was aiming to be placed as queen, when her eldest sister claimed the title. Neith, in plain sight may seem jealous and prude, but just as every character she melts away the ice that she built around her.

She sacrificed her youth to ensure her family, after their parents' death, would be safe within the palace by capturing her stance as his first wife. She birthed three sons, proving that the kingdom hadn't made a mistake by choosing her and her sisters, but what Neith doesn't allow anyone to know is that she too met the devil herself, The Echidna.

Just as Echidna kidnapped her sister, she too was taken to another place. The Echidna was enamored by her beauty and brave front, and used it to her advantage. In order to save her sister's soul, she gave her soul to the devil and made a bargain. If she could marry the Pharaoh first, begot his first son and claim the throne as the queen before Kamilah loses her purity, then Echinda would leave them be.

If only she knew she were being fooled and that just as soon as Kamilah arrived to Egypt, it wasn't going to be her future husband she would end up giving herself to. Completely blindsided, Neith is torn as she know she fails, so she believes by telling her husband of her sister's affair he would lock her away for a few years in order to evade The Echidna and would give her time to become queen.

When she loses that title too, she loses herself and begs Echidna for a second chance, allowing Echidna to take advantage and possess her (spoiler alert)

Let's just say, this ends with all of them dead.
