Amazon's Publishing Process part 1

Since I was younger, I loved writing; clearly.

I've always dreamt of seeing my books sit beautifully on a shelf in Books A Million or Barnes and Noble, a proud and bright NY Best Seller stamp shining brightly.

Those are still my goals, but in order to achieve that level of greatness I created a plan.

How can I get my name out there?

Some people are extremely lucky and talented on their first try, with the right push and people behind them or with years of experience on who to connect with, and reach those levels easily.

It's not easy.

This is probably the hardest dream I've ever had and I try my hardest to stay on top of it.

Social media is at its peak with creative minds and EVERYONE AND THEIR MAMA are doing their best to fulfill their dreams.

The competition is definitely tough. I'm left with many questions of self worth; can I do this?

Am I good enough?

Is my work worthy?

After many years of doubt and rejections from many literary agents I decided to change my route and go the self publishing way.

Everyone uses Amazon; it's literally the Walmart of the Internet. Its easy to use, it's reliable and you can get ANYTHING shipped to your house.

I was introduced to Amazon publishing through one of the literary agents that turned down my work and decided why not?

Rejection hurts, but goodness comes from it. Wisdom as well.

Publishing with Amazon was definitely a different story.

It was like I was thrown into this new world I had no clue existed.

I was used to sharing my stories on a site that allowed free publishing and interaction with followers and readers I had accumulated from my books.

This new world can be cold and alone, but then it's also rewarding and fun.

Being a writer is part of my DNA; I can't change who I am.

Follow my next post as I dive into detail with the publishing process!

Until next week!!!!
